Notes and Action Items from Hall C Compton meeting: 3/30/2009

Attendees: Ron, Katherine, Butch, Ernie, Chris, and Dave

0. We will meet by phone again next Monday (April 6) at 1:30 pm.

1. Last week, Katherine and Ron provided example drawings in the format
JLab usually expects. Drawings showing the (x,y,z) positions of the
Compton entrance and exit also provided.

2. Delivery of final drawings for dipoles, stands and vacuum chambers
has been delayed until April 10 (Chris was diverted for other work).

At present, machine drawings for the dipoles and stands exist. Layout
drawings do not yet include beam diagnostics or vacuum system
instrumentation.

Some concern expressed at JLab about dipole height: stand fabrication
will not start until this has been resolved to everyone's satisfaction.

3. Ernie still needs to touch base with John Heckman. Date for final
vacuum design completion still TBD.

4. Interaction region:

Final decision on whether Hall A design will fit in Hall C interaction
region still pending based on final MIT layout.

Dave G. needs to check with Jay about mirror geometry (5 mm from
electron beam).

During the meeting, it was decided (re-iterated) that MIT will handle
the Interaction Region, while JLab will handle the laser enclosure.

To first order, the Interaction Region design can be based on the Hall A
design. Place of fabrication to be decided.

Schedule from last week still holds:

1. Check Hall A concept, verify that it fits in Hall C region (finish
April 10)

2. Fabricate Hall A cavity design (April-June 15).

3. Put Hall A design on laser table (June-July)

4. Iterate design (April-September)

5. Final fabrication (September-December)
