MAY TEST RUN

The method of replacing the HRS-e by a lead-glass calorimeter to detect the electron in coincidence has been successfully tested in may 2000. 45 blocks of 15*15 cm2 have been taken out of the pion rejector of the HRS-h, and put on a plateform vertically centered on beam height. The calorimeter consists of an array of 5 horizontal * 9 vertical blocks. The signals in each block are read in ADC 's in HRS-e (preshower ADC's). The analysis  is being done with ESPACE.

During this test, the  FPP  was turned on, and a cross-measurement of the ratio Ge/Gm was done to compare with result of e93027. The kinematics is shown is the table below.

The preliminary  result (as of 05-24-2000) for the ratio muGe/Gm is 0.6208 +/- 0.0484 (i.e 7.79%), to be compared with the e93027 result, 0.6319 +/- 0.0318 (i.e 5.03%).
