Experimental Procedures
HALOG
- electronic logbook
- try typing halog
- if it does not work, check your DISPLAY environment variable
- if it does not work, try starting it from one of the adaqs machines
ATABLE
- beam time accounting
- type cd to get to the adaq main directory
- type cd ACCOUNT
- type atable
- if it does not work, is the DISPLAY environment set and are you
logged into adaq?
SPOT
- checks raster spot size
- type cd to get to the adaq main directory
- type cd raster
- put the current machine / disk / run number in the file run.list
- type newspot
- examine the results in paw with the macros
ampli_xy or ampli_xy_hist
- generally the spot should be a few mm by a few mm
- MCC can adjust the overall radius, and there are controls by the
raster scope, in rack CH01B05 in the center room, to fine tune the
x / y widths
Wang Xu's pscaler
- code to check charge asymmetry in the two helicity states
- agrees well with HAPPEX DAQ, except does not correct for beam
off time
- can use on any machine, from any directory
- type pscaler xxxx , where xxxx is the run number
- most updated version on adaqh2, as of 2/5/99
Wang Xu's helicity flag check
- code to check that helicity flag ADC channels are okay
- Use adaqs2
- type goespace
- type cd hcheck
- put the current disk / run number in the file run.list
- type hcheck
- in paw, examine e-arm with exec e.kumac
or h-arm with exec h.kumac
- on each spectrometer, each helicity flag is checked with two ADCS,
"g" and "s"
- The plus-plus and minus-minus comparisons should be diagonal.
- The plus-minus and minus-plus comparisons should be off-diagonal,
except for a small fraction of pedestal-pedestal events from the blank-off
period.
