I am a Ph.D. candidate in experimental hadronic physics at the University of Connecticut. As a member of the CLAS collaboration at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility, I study collisions between electrons and protons in order to increase our knowledge of the proton's internal structure. By examining pion electro-production in semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering, information about the transverse and orbital motion of quarks in the proton can be obtained, leading to a better understanding of the spin structure of the proton.
