Speaker: Susan Gardner (University of Kentucky) Title: Hunting Traces of TeV-Scale Physics in Low-Energy Processes Abstract: Theoretical and empirical evidence show the Standard Model, successful though it may be, to be incomplete at sufficiently high energies. Collider experiments yield direct constraints on possible completions, though important, complementary constraints come from precision measurements at low energies. I overview the latter, focussing on tests afforded by the study of hadrons and nuclei, and discuss the theoretical challenges in interpreting these measurements as constraints on emergent, TeV-scale phenomena.
