beam: 1 uA

data acquisition:

   ts_full2

   no TED

   fast clear enabled

   prescale PS4:

      start with 15

      adjust later to get 800 evts/sec

      if >600 evts/sec adjust prescale only for next run



electronics:

  swap between NA and French detectors by

  - turning on HV only on current detector and one number higher

    (e.g. for octant 1 calibration HV on for octant 1 and for octant 2

    to warm the detectors up)

  - change electronics coincidence level

    in 6th rack from left (CH03C04)

    top NIM crate (at eye level)

    left most module (Philips 755 Quad 4-fold logic unit)

    second channel (out of the 4 channels available) is NA

    third channel is FRench

    have screw-driver rotatable switch at "2" for enabled

        at "3" for disabled

        (e.g. for octant 1 calibr: channel 2 at level 2, channel 3 at level 3)



taking runs:

  take between 1.0 and 1.2 Million events

  8 runs for 8 octants



finally:

  all octants only HV detector 16 on, all other off

  enable electronics for both NA and FR (i.e. both switches level 2)

  reduce G0 magnet from 5000 A to 4700 A

  1 run similar to previous runs



estimated time for beam on target each run: about 30 minutes

Actual conditions during 02/17/04 data taking:

prescale 13 is good; integrated rate around 750

Beam: asked for 1 uA

      BCM1 0.85 to 0.91 (no beam = -0.18) -> 1.05

      BCM2 0.44 to 0.47 (no beam = -0.65) -> 1.10

      paddle 94 +- 2 nA -> would be consistent with about 1.1 uA

events: 1.1 Million in about 30 minutes
