Here's where I put together my hardware experience on the target for the GEn experiment. Let me know of any mistakes or if more clarification is needed. Here is the document in PS and PDF formats.
Take a look at the magnetic compass document and give me suggestions. This document is due for some updating ... (9/5)
Here are the images/pictures of the compass measurements.
Vertical Compass: See the development of the verticomp - the magnetic compass to measure vertical magnetic field direction - here.
Optics and Lasers. The optical setup used thus far does not work very well with the five-to-one combiner (henceforth referred to as the combiner) - the beams diverge after passing through the lens. One of the solutions to this problem involves the use of two lenses, and was studied at UVa.
Gaussian beam parameters plot [ps] for one of the combiner configuration - FAP system -> 75m fiber -> combiner. It shows the beam waist diameter (in inches) versus the distance (in inches) from the bi-convex lens which is at a distance of 45mm from the fiber output. The "0" of the x-axis corresponds to 80mm from the combiner.
My TDC rates calculation codes are here: TDC_veto_table.C (veto), TDC_n20_table.C (neutron detectors). The rate is displayed in the corresponding TPad, and also in the terminal window. It outputs the rates in table form as a LaTeX file.
Results (very basic) of the TDC and scalar analysis. TDC analysis for all the runs is now complete. Take a look. The detector map with rates is here.
DAQ. Here's the G0 helicity structure to be used in the GEn experiment. I'll put in the description when I get time.
