If the FAULT light in ON and the display says "External Interlock Open!" but everything seems to be right, then the contact between the laser cover and the micro-interlock-screw may be lost/loose. This can happen due to extreme temperature conditions in the lab - COLD! Either let the laser run for a while (it took certainly more than a day when I first discovered this problem), or replace the screw that defeats this interlock by a slightly longer one.
