Tasks and Projects |
Schedule:
-
The Readiness Review is presently planned for January 30. Need system experts
for target, Møller, beam line to testify. John Domingo will head
the Review committee, other members include Joe Mitchell and Mike Seely.
John Domingo proposed to look into moving the Review to a later date, after
full system test at Oxford has been completed (if Larry Cardman agrees).
-
The next run time request would nominally be due by mid-February. We need
to complete the Readiness Review before that. We need to submit a request
to be put on the firm schedule for the second half of 1998. One
issue we need to resolve before that is whether we need to request different
beam energies then presently posted. We might want to especially change
the presently scheduled 2.032 GeV running to something like 2.4-2.5 GeV
to reduce unnecessary redundance with the 1.833 GeV running.
-
The present best estimate for the target delivery schedule is the following:
-
Week of January 12: Bucket test of the refurbished magnet
-
Towards the end of January: Separate test of the cryostat
-
Mid-February: Full systems test at Oxford, Irradiation of target material
at the JLab FEL.
-
Mid-March: Arrival at JLab (mostly assembled), followed by acceptance test
here
-
April - June: Commissioning and testing in EEL. We will need to test polarization,
install all custom windows, and train people to operate the target.
-
June 30: Begin installation in the hall
-
If this schedule slips further (by more than 1-2 weeks), the contingency
plan foresees running the polarized portion of E1 (E89-042) until target
becomes ready for installation.
-
March 26-27 will be the Møller commissioning run.
-
April 13 - June 1 will be g1 running. They will try to run with polarized
beam, so we can learn a lot about beam performance, Møller polarimetry,
and DAQ issues.
-
We might be able to commission rastering and beam line around June 4-8
(Facility development time).
-
Next CLAS collaboration meeting will be around June 4-8, as well.
-
Still to be determined: EG1 COP, safety review, Operations manual
Please send your additions, corrections, drawings etc. to me.
Questions about the target should be directed to the speakers (Don, Mikell
and Mauro).
