Simulated Error bars for the 1998 EG1 run
This page contains links to several postscript graphs showing expected
error bars for the 1998 run of EG1. These estimates are based on the present
version of the run plan, and an average combined efficiency of experiment
and accelerator of 50%. The error bars would become larger if the beam
polarization would be much less than 75%, or if we can get much less than
400 electron triggers on tape per second.
Virtual photon asymmetry at an average Q2 of 0.5, compared with
existing data from SLAC.
The same for deuterium.
The integral of the structure function g1 of the proton at several
Q2 , compared to existing data and predictions.
The same for the neutron (from the deuteron after subtracting the proton
contribution).
The difference between Gamma1p and Gamma1n, multiplied with a kinematic
factor 16p2a/Q2.
This ensures that this integral converges to the GDH sum rule as Q2
goes to zero.
