DAQ and other ElectronicsThe BoNuS detector will incoporate approximately 4000 channels of the CERN ALICE TPC readout system based on the ALTRO chip. Analog signals from each of the pads will be amplified and inverted in preamplifier cards near the detector, then transmitted a few meters to crates containing ALICE front-end cards (FEC). The ALICE FECs provide digitization as well as pipelined filtering, baseline subtraction, and zero-suppression, and, finally, buffering in on-board memory until the data is read out. The preamp/inverter and signal delivery system is being developed by the JLab Fast Electronics Group.Further information can be found at the following links: |
