The "BoNuS" Radial Time Projection Chamber

RTPC Prototypes We have built several prototype detectors to study the performance of GEMs in both flat and curved geometry. The first prototype used flat GEM foils and was tested with cosmic rays, x-ray sources and low-energy proton beams at TUNL. The second prototype is curved and represents about 1/8 of the full RTPC detector (1/4 in phi and 1/2 in length).
