Eric got improvement of 10% for 10kÅ coating, and 17% for 5kÅ coating.
Don't take too serious about my results below . I may make some silly mistakes.

Remarks:

(a) For every coated PMT, an additional layer of 100% MgF2 ->250Å was used to protect the P-Terphenyl layer.
(b) Aped is the channel number of the pedestal peak positon in the spectrum, while A1 the channel number of the first photon-electron peak positon.
These two values were derived from fitting with Guass function.
(c) Aav is  the average channel number of the events between L1 and L2, with the definition
L1=30%*(A1-Aped)+Aped
L2=2*(A1-Aped)+Aped
(d) Ntot is the total number of all the events collected, while N> the number of events with the channel number greater than L1.
(e) µ is defined as  -ln((Ntot-N>)/Ntot). Sigma(µ) is the statistical error of µ, which was calcualted from
sigma(µ)=sqrt(N>/Ntot) *sqrt(Ntot+N>)/ (Ntot-N>).
(f) There was some white stain on the coating surface.
(g) High dark noise. About 5-6k  in the beginning with coating. Then after wiped off the coaitng, the dark noise was even higher, about 7k at 2360 HV. So I stoped the measurment on it.
 Anyway, Eric had some results at similar thickness.
