ARC Cubicle Launch, February 4, 2013
- Two major space topics
- user offices and cubicles in CEBAF Center, etc.
- user cubicles in the Library at the ARC
- for this meeting, prefer to deal with the latter
- History of the ARC cubicles
- Library reconfiguration started in May 2011
- main purpose: create more user space
- cubicles installed
- computers proposed October 2012
- computers installed in two cubicles (before December)
- cubicles offered by new arrivals at the Lab through Lorelei (user liaison)
- existence of cublicles reported in Hall meetings by Sebastian (others?)
- takers: few or none(?)
- recent obstacle to full roll-out: lack of software
- Fish or cut bait?
- Go forward with promoting use of the space
- we haven't made a "best effort" at promotion
- space is kinda nice
- leverage the investment in time and money
- Abandon idea: declare the effort a failure and return the space to the library
- obviously not a popular choice for users; they know about the space and don't want it
- software to support effort has not been deployed anyway
