Meeting #119

Last week I continued with MCEEP simulations. I tried some modifications but results did not improve much. I checked what happens, if I make an even narrower cut on ReactZ. No significant change was observed. I also implemented a cut on proton/deuteron momentum (for coincidence cases). Again no significant change.

Although the agreement is far from being perfect, I am happy with the obtained 10-20% agreement. I was expecting worse. The disagreement between data and simulation in phi_{p,d} could be explained by the fact, that simulation resolution is much better than reconstructed one. Will test this, by smearing the simulated variable.

I also ran MCEEP for 14.5deg data, both singles and coincidences and results look reasonable.

I redid my hydrogen results with fix for the energy-losses. Now MCEEP simulates particle momenta at the detector, not at target. This allows us to compare MCEEP results directly to measured data

I also could not wait any longer and checked, what I get for the 3He data. The procedure to obtain these results is different than was used before. Here the Golak's CSs are applied not in the MCEEP but later. Therfore I first need to check if the procedure works properly. I intend to use this procedure on the deuterium data, for which I know, that MCEEP works now. I will extract CS formulas from MCEEP and use them at later stage, through my algorithm. This way I will also be able to test how efficiently my PID works.

However, before that I intend to run MCEEP also for 3He(e,e'p), using built in CSs, to see, if I get reasonable rates - to test If my 3He luminosity calculation is correct.
