Meeting No.2: T3 - Asymmetry (GMn) #2

Prescale Factors:

The following plot shows how the prescale factors change with the run numbers. We can see that these factors change dramaticaly with run numbers. Therefore it is necessary to pay attention to the preascale factors when we do our analysis:

Farm analysis:

Changes to the analysis script:

- I have removed (DL.evtypebits&32)==32 from the event type condition. From now on I consider only those events that satisfy condition (DL.evtypebits&8)==8.

- I have changed the cut on L.gold.y variable from [-0.35,0.3] to [-0.2, 0.2]. I will be using this cut until I determine the effect of the cell windows on the polarization.

- I set the cut on the DL.t3 to [770, 930].

Problems with the analysis:

- Some of the jobs FAIL while copying the data to the farm computers

- Some of the runs exeed the Resource Limits (exit status 145). A also noticed some funny behaviour: When I run the same job on different farm computer I worked properly.

I believe that this is caused by the fact that I did not specify the ammount of disk space and memory that I will require during this job. Threfore in some cases I exceed the limits. I have corrected my script and I am running the corrected script right now. I set the limits to DiskSpace = 20GB and Memory = 300MB.

Current results

Longitudinal Runs:

Transverse Runs:

To-Do:

- Determine the Target Wall effects and how they affect the polarization and asymmetry
- Determine the N2 Dilution factor.
- Rotate the asymmetry to the correct direction (need to divide by sin(73deg) - small correction)
- Solve the problems with the analysis on the Farm
- Check if the ratio between the number of events of different event-types agree with the ratio of the prescale factors.
- etc.
