Subsystem Monitoring for G0
S. Pate, NMSU
G0 Collaboration Meeting, 6-7 June 1997, Jefferson Lab
General Policy: Each subsystem group will be in charge of controlling their own equipment and for providing a user interface to be used during the running of the experiment. A contact person from each subsystem group will coordinate this activity with the rest of the collaboration. Overall integration will be handled by a slow controls coordinator. Archival data from each subsystem will be provided online to a central EPICS system which will perform the following functions:
Beam Controls
Plan -- EPICS based system to be developed at JLab
Target Controls
Plan -- Use existing/improved LabView system for controls; interface to EPICS for monitoring;
Magnet Controls
Plan -- Babcock & Wilcox will develop LabView based controls, and interface to EPICS.
Detector Controls
Plan -- for HV (CAEN), use existing Hall C EPICS system;
Gain Monitoring System
Plan -- develop EPICS based monitoring system
DAQ
Plan --
General
Important changes in the experimental configuration could be recorded in a "electronic log book" which is folded into the data stream. A simple html interface could accomplish this function.
