Concerns:
1) With the thick targets and small angles needed for the HMS (10.5 degree mode/pipe),
the SS gate valve will be a real problem unless it's replaced with an aluminum one. * Coolant mass flow calculated for LH2 and LD2 using H(15 atm, 15K)-H(3 atm, 19K)=31.0 J/g
2) The thick nuclear targets will activate the pivot area pretty badly. This may prevent * Coolant mass flow calculated for all other targets using H(3 atm, 4.5K)-H(1.2 atm, 6K)=30.3 J/g
maintenance/repair activities from being carried out for significant periods of time
after the beam is turned off. May be useful to try to schedule high dose runs just before breaks.
3) The solid targets requested by the different experiments have been consolidated in order to
reduce the number needed on the cryostack.
