Glasgow Two-magnet Design (Sept 2004)
I have not yet gotten my tranport program modified for the 2-magnet geometry.
I have calculated counter dimensions and positions using a ray file from G. Yang.
Assumptions: Each counter
- spans 0.5% of E0, giving 141 counters from .95 to .25 E0.
- is 0.5 cm thick and 4.0 cm high
- is centered on a 1-inch diam. PMT below the detector plane. (The first 20 counters are wider than 1 inch; the first 3 are wider than 2 inches. We can use 2-inch PMTs and tapered light pipes where appropriate.)
- Fixed array (30 cm beyond focal plane)
Status as of August 2003
