1.) Chamber:
We have used our manual milling machine to build another 10 cm x 10 cm
prototype detector while waiting for our CNC time to machine the
gasket tranches for the final Qweak detector.
The CNC machine has been used to mill two gasket trenches for the
final Qweak detectors.
Both gaskets
One gasket
The CNC machining was a bottleneck to constructing that has been overcome.
CERN has received our final charge collector design and is able
to read everything. I have asked for a quote and I need to have
a final check before CERN fabricates the charge collector.
2.)Readout electronics
I communicated with Walter Snoey reguarding a delivery date for
the VFAT boards. He metioned the end of March as a date where
CERN will be performing final tests. The hope is to have
a shipment arrive at ISU in May. We will then incorporate the
boards into our DAQ system and prepare for beam tests during the
summer. I still wory about the arrival date for the boards.
