preliminary design has been hashed out to meet the PMP goal of a design by March 2005.

The new mini-torus location has forced a search for a new GEM
detector location. As one moves upstream towards the target it
becomes difficult to find enough space between the opening angle
of the collmator and the beam which will allow a beam
pipe as well as a detector.
Perhaps if we reduce the shielding thickness down to 15 cm we can shoehorn
in a 50cm thick tracking system.
