Updated CVS with *.F file to give all 8 octants.
1.) Simulation:
"Archana.Sharma@cern.ch" advertizes an adaptation of Garfield
which is useful for GEM detectors. We are going to contact
him/her and see if we can get the source code.
Latest version of garfield?
2.) GEM Power supply: We believe our current monitor problem of blowing opamps at about 2800 Volts instead of 4000 is due to the different OP amp we started using.
3.) Readout: Someone damaged the wedge based wire binding
tool. Can't thread in the wire. New tool has arrived we
can continue practicing and then wire bond the Helix board
onto the pitch adapter this week.
Still waiting to use ball bonder to connect TTL->LVDS chip to PC board for
testing with new pulser. CAPS is buying a new pulser for
general use which can be used to clock the Helix chip at up to
60 MHz.
4.) Detector Design: Looked into Z-vertex reconstruction resolution as a function of GEM detector resolution. A calculation based on geometrical relations was used to make a first estimate.
5.) Test Apparatus : X-ray test lab being set up.
