3.) Readout:
Finished pulser tests of trigger electronics board ( A203
pre-amp and pulse shaper and A206 voltage
amplifier and low level discriminator. We will next attach
it to last GEM foil.
Still waiting for cable to attach LVDS board to Helix board
5.) Test Apparatus
Ordering parts to assemble GEM detectors at Tech's Ifm cleanroom
in July.
i.) at least 10 segmented GEM foils and 4 charge collectors from GDD
group a CERN. Design is identical to COMPASS which reported a 60
micron tracking resolution.
ii.) Charge collector pitch adapter from Advanced micro.
New design to move Helix board further away from nearby
octant. Both Helix boards (he x and Y readout) will be
shifted to keep signal
propogation time the same. The pitch adapter joins to the 2 pads on a Helix
board which contains 2 Helix readout chips.
iii.) Copper clad kapton foil for the top of the drift cell which
has HV lead.
iv.) Araldite Glue for GEM foils and Chamber: Product # (AY 103/
HY991); Vendors: Graco (1-800-969-0466), Krayden (1-800-448-0406)
v.) Kapton tape for stretching and holding temporarily while glue sets
vi.) Fiberglass based Frames for outer gas box: Plastics design
Inc, or CERN
You get about 60 frames out of about 1kg (10sheets of 40cmx26cm)
GEM needs two of these frames. The
scem code is:
44.88.75.050.3- STRAT.GLASS FABR.SHEET E 0,5
SHEETS MADE FROM WOVEN GLASS FABRIC WITH EPOXY RESIN
Unit Price: 34.0 CHF / KILOGRAM(S)
Unit of distribution: 1 SQUARE METRE of 1 KILOGRAM(S)
vii.) Hex bolts for outer gas box: boltsdepot.com
viii.) Gasket for outer gas box: Marco rubber
ix.) Charge collector -> GEM detector connectors
x.) HV lead mix
xi.) Gas inlet connectors
