Jindong and Xiaofeng made new RTD connector for the oven10/22/2001three-wire connection is used to reduce the lead wire resistanceRTD for the oven is replaced with a new one.Kevin's tips:

Don't using cupper wire with red coating. The coating will turn black in high temperature. Using wire with golden coating instead. For the connector near the pumping chamber, don't using any connector with pins made of stainless steel. Using the special connector made by Sasha.Pavel helped to fixed the problem for epics controller. The oven system and the helicity motor are ready.

Jindong and Vince finished the wall thickness measurement for the 40cm water cell.EPICS controls for the target moter and half wave plate motor are ready. But the home position need to be recalibrated.
Except for the oven RTD, the oven system is ok.

Javier helped to fix the problem with the GUI for He3 target control.
To start the GUI: login in pinky first. Then type "/94010/epics/hlamain_web "After three days' sweating, the network printer PHYHP6 was finally configed onto the 2 NT machine in target lab.
Vince did two good water calibrations on 25cm water cell. However, we haven't got good Q-curve signal yet.The interlock for the Opto-power laser in the laser hut is setup with help from Mark Taylor, and checked by Vince.
The connection for the oven heating system is ok now. Al found new connectors for the heating gas flow.
EPICS remote control system:
IOC26, used in the hall during the A1/g2 experiment, has been moved out of VME crate, and kept in the cabinet upstairs for the future experiment .
IOC23, used in the laser lab before the experiment, is inserted in the VME crate .( IP: 129.57.36.129)
We still need sometime to get the epics-gui work.
The LCD display for kepco4 works again. This morning, Vince turned on its power , and the LCD worked . However, We emailed the manufactor about the problem what happened last week.50GByte disk on Pinky is available. You can mount it to your local machine by typing: "mount -tnfs pinky:/94010 /mnt"
The Oven heating system is almost ready, and it will be checked by Al tomorrow.
Tomorrow morning, Pavel will help to setup the epics control system in the target lab.
Vince did very good water calibration in the weekend.
Vince finished field calibration for the small helmholtz coils. See the fitting result . The water cell is ready to install for calibration, and the pickup coils has been tested.Jindong will continue the study for RF coil calibration, trying different capacitors settings.
Al installed the new pipe for the heating system.
One copy of the experimental logbooks were shipped to Kentucky.
Todd helped to check the Kepco3 power supply. it still works for current output. However, the LCD display is broken.We need to contact the manufacturer, since it is still under warranty.Next Wednesday morning, Mike Taylor will come for the interlock system for the laser lab.

Kepco3 , the power supply for the large coils , has some problem. We checked the cable connection, and it was ok. But it just does not work. ????10/09/2001Kepco4 is working well. We started warming up the small coils, and planned to do the field calibraion tomorrow.
Jindong finished calibration for the RF coil.Vince and Xiaofeng installed the mirrors for the target chamber.
Vince removed the Q-coil, and is going to make a new one.
Vince finished the wall thickness measurement of GORE. The results are well agreed with the summer data.
Vince and Xiaochao started optic alignment . Vince and Jindong also started density measurements of target cell :GORE.Jindong finished modification of the connection box for the RF current monitoring.
Xiaofeng checked the pedstals history files, which contain the pedstals's centers after each pedstals' run. From June to Sept, there are no obvious pedstals shifts during A1/g2 's running . The shift of starting channels in the adc spectra comes from the fitting during the pedstals' run.

Helmholtz coils were connected, new 10AWG cables for the mutlimeters was made. Connection downstairs was checked by Kevin. Vince is ready to clean the optics and start alignments. Posts are already been setup with help from Xiaochao. Al will make a new set frames for pickup coil , with modified dimensions . Jindong started "labview".
Xiaochao did study on the asymmetry of cut dependency for A1. To study cutting on beam ramping, scipts to add beam current ( extracted from scaler event) to detector events for g2 is prepared by Xiaofeng. Nilanga updated espace code, so the event_time and beta were added to variable list in the CWN ntuple.
Kevin will show to Vince and Jindong the labview software. The VDC and scitillator efficency study , by Kevin. BPM information and database for the second replay, By Nilanga and Bodo. Holding field calibrations by Vince and Kevin. Install oven system and get target ready for water calibration by Vince, Xiaofeng and Al Clean optic component and align the optics , by Vince and Xiaochao. Shower counter and pion rejector calibraions ,by Xiaofeng and Xiaodong update header files for espace, by Xiaofeng and Nilanga RTDs and the epis software, by Xiaofeng and Jindong
Local control for target ladder motor is ready. Jindong found loose connections for the limit switches, and fixed it. Optical table has been moved to the proper position. The jack was borrowed from FEL yesterday, and returned back today. (FEL contact person: Gubeli, Joe , phone 7862, pager 989-4229) Cable list has been updated to include the latest changes made in the hall and laser lab. The pin maps for the connectors are also done. Vince finished the inventory of items in the target lab. Pick up coils is prepared by Vince. Jindong made extension cables for the I-meter. Al came to install and fix one of the pipe for the heater, but we still need time to make the other pipe.
