K*+ photoproduction at CLAS meeting: Baryons 2010, speaker: Ken Hicks The photoproduction of K* mesons at CLAS has been measured with high statistics for the first time. Cross sections for final states to both Lambda and Sigma baryons are now stable, and total cross sections from threshold up to a maximum beam energy of 3.8 GeV have been determined via fits to the angular distributions. Although no nucleon resonance structures are evident in the data, the total cross sections show a peak near W=2.1 GeV, where some four-star nucleon resonances are listed by the Particle Data Group. A full analysis using theoretical models will likely be necessary to understand the relative role of baryon resonances in the photoproduction of the K* Lambda and K* Sigma final states.
