Rafayel Paremuzyan

Rafayel Paremuzyan received his B.S. in physics in 2005 from Yerevan State University. In 2007 he obtained his M.S. degree in nuclear physics from the same university. He did his Ph.D. work on Timelike Compton Scattering using CLAS e1-6 and e1f data at Yerevan Physics Institute (YerPhI), graduating in 2010. He worked in YerPhI as a junior researcher from 2010 to 2012. In 2012 he started his first postdoctoral position at the Institut de Physique Nucléaire (IPN) at Orsay. At IPN he developed and was in charge of the maintenance of a GEANT4-based simulation package for DVCS experiments at JLab Hall-A. His research focus at IPN was DVCS experiments in Hall A and the analysis of TCS data in Hall B. In 2014 he started his second postdoctoral position at the Department of Physics of the University of New Hampshire (UNH). He was fully involved in preparation, data taking, and the analysis of data from the Hall B Heavy Photon Search (HPS) experiment. He joined the Hall B Group in June 2020 as an online-offline DAQ expert. He has authored more than 100 papers published in refereed journals and is co-spokesperson of four JLab experiments.

Current Responsibilities in Hall B:

  • Maintenance of the CLAS12 Central tracker (SVT and BMT)
  • In coordination with the DAQ Group and Front-End Electronics (FE) Group, design, prepare, and test electronics for the μRWell detectors to be used for the CLAS12 luminosity upgrade.
  • Responsible for the operation of the Scintillation Hodoscope used for the HPS experiment.
  • Maintenance of Hall B Faraday Cup readout and calibration of the beam blocker.
  • Maintenance of Hall B Hot Checkout (HCO) system.
