Scope
User-Driven Instrumentation:
Developed by physics and instrumentation collaborations.
Primary Goal:
High momentum final state and coincidence experiments with unstable particles.
High flexibility to accommodate future additional instrumentation.
- High momentum: 7.5 GeV/c final state particle detection. (ready for future accelerator energy upgrade.)
- Moderate resolutions: (~10-3) for few body physics.
- Unstable particle (pi & K) detection: Minimum path length, high luminosity, with moderate resolution (~10-3).
Core Equipment:
- 7.5 GeV/c high momentum spectrometer (HMS).
- 1.8 GeV/c short-orbit spectrometer(SOS).
- Refurbished Enge split-pole spectrometer.
- Associated detectors, beamline, targets, and data handling equipment.
