Shift Takers' Required Training

THERE ARE STRICT RULES IN PLACE THAT NEED TO BE FOLLOWED BY ALL SHIFT TAKERS IN HALL-D. THE FOLLOWING MANDATORY TRAINING IS REQUIRED (NO EXCEPTIONS!)

THE LAB-WIDE TRAINING ITEMS ARE: (New Window)

  1. SAF801C, SAF801T, SAF801P Radiation Worker 1
  2. SAF113 Hall D Safety Awareness and Walk-thru
  3. SAF103 OXYGEN DEFICIENCY HAZARDS
  4. SAF100 ES&H Orientation
  5. GEN034U Security Awareness for Users

IF YOU HAVE NONE OF THE ABOVE REQUIRED TRAINING WE RECOMMEND YOU BE AT THE LAB SEVERAL DAYS BEFORE YOUR SHIFT STARTS (like a week).

Note: scheduling of the Hall-D safety walk-through needs to be coordinated with the accelerator schedule. Most weeks there is usually either a Tuesday or a Thursday accelerator maintenance day and access to the hall can be arranged.

IF YOU HAVE NEVER DONE SHIFTS IN HALL-D YOU MUST BE AN OBSERVER ON AT LEAST ONE SHIFT, BUT ADDITIONAL SHIFTS ARE RECOMMENDED BASED ON THE EXPERIENCES OF THE USERS.

THE FOLLOWING HALL-D DOCUMENTATION NEEDS TO BE READ:

  1. Conduct of Operations (COO)
  2. Experimental Safety Assessment Document (ESAD)
  3. Radiation Safety Assessment Document (RSAD)
  4. SAF113 Emergency Response Guidelines (ERG)
  5. Photos of emergency buttons and equipment
  6. Slides for Tunnel/Hall access training note

Must Sign: THERE IS A FOLDER IN THE COUNTING HOUSE THAT CONTAINS THESE DOCUMENTS AND ALSO A SIGN-UP SHEET THAT EACH SHIFT TAKER MUST FILL IN AND SIGN TO VERIFY THE NOTING AND UNDERSTANDING OF THE DOCUMENTS.
