Mark Waite
Former Director of Business Services

Mark served as the Deputy Associate Director for the Administrative Services Division, reporting to the Associate Director for Administrative Services, Kelly Caccetta. In this role, he supported her responsibility for the planning, oversight, management, and evaluation of the business functions of Jefferson Lab, as well as the administrative components of the DOE contract. Additionally, Mark served as Director of the Business Services Department within the Administrative Services Division.

Mark had joined the Laboratory in 1985 as a subcontracts specialist, with responsibilities for procuring major experimental equipment and components during the construction of the facility. In 1992, he was promoted to Procurement Manager, and by 1997, he had become Director of the Business Services Department, consolidating procurement and financial functions. His oversight responsibilities had included procurement, accounting, financial services, travel services, and technology transfer support. Prior to joining Jefferson Lab, Mark had been employed at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (Livermore, CA) and Bechtel Power Corporation (San Francisco, CA) in various procurement roles and responsibilities.

Mark had graduated from Michigan State University, receiving a B.S. degree in social science and an MBA in marketing. Additionally, he had served two years of active duty in the U.S. Army Military Police Corps., stationed in Ft. Belvoir, VA.

During that time, Mark had been a member of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA).
