November 8–14 is National Radiation Protection Professionals Week

“While radiation and radioactivity are useful and necessary to our modern world, they can pose a hazard to people and the environment. A health physicist’s job is to manage the beneficial uses of radiation while protecting workers and the public from those potential hazards.” (Health Physics Society Newsletter, November 2015)

The 15-member strong Jefferson Lab RadCon staff is here to protect workers, the public, and the environment from the radiation produced as a result of the incredible research that goes on at our facility. We are also here to inform and educate, so please feel free to come to us with any questions or concerns you might have about how radiation protection is handled at the Lab.
