Accelerator Seminar: "Advances in fs-long beam monitoring and Dual Axis Asymmetric Cavity for ERL"
There are number of challenges in the physics of particle accelerators. The examples are: fine control and monitoring of an electron beam in the state of the art accelerators capable of generating femtosecond long electron bunches and accelerators where electron beam micro-bunching can occur. Efficient acceleration with sequential energy recovery of a high current electron beam using SCRF cavities is another such an example of modern challenges. This seminar,given by Ivan Konoplev, will discuss these exciting problems specifically talking about application of the coherent radiation spectral analysis to monitor longitudinal bunch profile and separation between micro-bunches. Also to be discussed is the recent theoretical and experimental advances in development of dual axis superconducting RF cavity.
