Title: SRF Challenges for the EIC Project
Abstract: The Electron Ion Collider (EIC) is designed for providing answers to the frontier questions of the nuclear physics with studies through deep inelastic scattering. The realization of the EIC under current design is expected with challenging beam parameters and a wide range of both the beam energy and species for collision. The Superconducting RF (SRF) systems are inevitably demanded for such a high current machine operating at CW mode. After decades of development, the demands from the EIC inspire the SRF technology to a new stage of achievements in all aspects from a project point of view. These high performance while cost and risk minimizing requirements include novel cavity and coupler designs, simple and repeatable surface treatment techniques, flexible operation mode, powerful feedback systems, and beyond.
