"2012 JLab Users Group Meeting"
June 4-6, 2012
Jefferson Lab, Newport News, VA

Circular

The 2012 JLab User's Group Annual Meeting will take place on June 4-6, 2012 at Jefferson Lab. The program includes a variety of physics talks, presentations from the User Group Board, laboratory management and funding agencies, and talks from our new APS fellows and Prize winners.

Your participation is important, and we strongly urge everyone to register now (at http://conferences.jlab.org/ugm/index.html ), and make plans to attend. We particularly encourage graduate students to attend the annual meeting. The Jefferson Science Associates Initiatives Fund has again sponsored our waiving student registration fees. We will again have special lunch discussions for the graduate students where free food is available. The poster competition continues, with a first prize of $1000, a 2nd prize of $500, and a third prize of $250. The deadline for poster competition abstracts is Wednesday, May 23, 2012 - and you cannot win if you do not enter. For more information, contact Rakitha Beminiwattha (rakithab@jlab.org).

Please come and find out more about the plans of DOE, NSF, and the laboratory in the coming years. The main theme of this year's meeting is "The end of the 6 GeV era at Jefferson Lab". There will be a party organized by the Lab to celebrate the successful conclusion of the 6 GeV program at the end of the Users Group meeting. The Annual User Group Meeting plays a central role in maintaining the coherence and effectiveness of our community. Your User Group Board is working hard to put together a good meeting, and we very much hope to see you there!
