211.03 Service Recognition

  1. POLICY

    It is JSA's policy to recognize the contributions that employees make through their length of service and to express JSA's appreciation. All regular full-time and part-time employees are eligible to participate in the service award program.

  2. RESPONSIBILITIES

    Human Resources may hold annual events to honor those employees receiving five (or increment of five) year awards in that year. During those events the service awards may be distributed by a member of the Division's management.

  3. LENGTH OF SERVICE

    For establishing eligibility for service recognition (and only for that purpose), length of service includes the following:

    1. Time spent as an active employee of JSA.
    2. Leaves of absence and other authorized absences. Employees on Inactive-Disability leave (see Policy 205.01 D.) shall accrue additional service credits for service recognition and retirement purposes to a maximum accumulation of five years.
    3. Time spent on layoff, if recalled or rehired within 12 months after layoff.
