Speaker: Simonetta Liuti (University of Virginia) Title: What Deeply Virtual $\pi^0$ Electroproduction Really Measures? Abstract: Exclusive $\pi^0$ electroproduction from the proton is discussed. This process isolates C-parity odd and chiral odd combinations of t-channel exchange quantum numbers, and its helicity structure relates to the quark helicity flip, or chiral odd generalized parton distributions. An important consequence is that the collinear, leading twist $\gamma_\mu \gamma_5$ type contribution to the $\pi^0$ wave function does not have the correct chirality for $\pi^0$ electroproduction. A leading twist production mechanism can be considered only by introducing Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM). We present a new model that takes into account these important considerations.
