Current run of LHC  includes  the  first experimental 
study  of  proton - ion  collisions in the collider 
kinematics early next year. I will discuss some of the 
highlights of the program connected to the studies in 
the forward kinematics which will allow to probe  the 
small x physics at very small x, effects
of color fluctuations in nucleons, the parton propagation
through nuclear media at very high energies, etc.
