NOTE
- Never run harp #6 with more than 5 microA CW
- This is an invasive measurement
STEPS
- On the HAC computer open up an medm screen
- Go to Execute Mode
- In the medm screen go to /home/gougnaud/arc2/adl
- Run arc6.adl
- This will pop up the ARC6.adl medm screen
- Run with these conditions:
- Mode: CW
- Current: 5.0 microA
- Arc Tuning: ACHRO
- Command file name: data6
- File Name: e.g. Date-6-1
- Make sure to hit the return button in the entry space for the value to register
- Don't worry about the Running command
- When everything is ready, click on the START button
- The harp #6 will first do a forward scan and at the end a yellow profile with 3 peaks will show up. Then it will proceed to do a return scan and a
green profile will show up. Both the profiles should overlap each other.
8. You can repeat the scans as many times as you like, just save the good ones for later analysis.
- The signal strength of the peaks should be between 5 and 10 volts, no more, no less. If they are beyond these limits, the gain of the PMT needs to be adjusted. In the command file name, load of the following files, depending on which gain gives you the best signal :
PMT gain 4 : command file name : data6-4
PMT gain 8 : command file name : data6-8
PMT gain 16 : command file name : data6-16
PMT gain 32 : command file name : data6-32
PMT gain 64 : command file name : data6-64
PMT gain 128 : command file name : data6-128
- The saved file is in /home/gougnaud/arc2/ARC. Check its size. A single scan is ~240 kB
