The Electrical Safety Program provides guidance for implementing safe electrical work practices and maintaining an electrically safe workplace. Jefferson Lab allows only trained personnel to perform electrical work. Training requirements are determined by the task assigned. The electrical safety program utilizes a committee of experts, including electrical engineers and electrical specialists from all laboratory divisions, who interpret and assess the technical aspects of electrical safety. The Electrical Safety Committee (ESC) provides continuous improvement recommendation to advance electrical safety practices and training. The ESC also promotes the uniform application of safe electrical work practices throughout all laboratory divisions.
