NEW MINIMUM RADCON PASSING SCORE

The Radiation Control Department streamlined the Radiation Worker-qualified training, study guides and proctored examination materials. TJNAF maintained a minimum passing score of 75% for Radiation Worker examinations for the past 20+ years. In January 2020, we aligned our radiological testing requirements with other DOE facilities by increasing the minimum passing score on all Radiation Control Department examinations to 80%.

In preparation for the increase in minimum score, RCD staff reviewed all test questions and updated them for consistency with study guides and applicability to required worker knowledge. Contact Adam Stavola at 757-269-6806 with comments, questions and suggestions.

Which Level of Training is Right for You?

The level of training you need is generally based on the need for access to certain locations at Jefferson Lab.  Click on the boxes below to determine which training you need.  Let us know if you need any help.

A radiological safety training qualification, termed General Employee Radiological Knowledge, is required for employees, subcontractors, guests, users, and others who may need routine unescorted access to the Accelerator Site. The minimum training for awarding this qualification is General Employee Radiological Training (GERT). All Jefferson Lab employees are encouraged to take GERT.

We have a new device on site that requires training before operating it.  This is for the Vanta Handheld XRF Analyzer.  Please read below to view the training.  There will be a short quiz afterward to receive credit for this course.
