On Wednesday, July 17, at 4 p.m. James Fast will present "Physics Experiments for Nuclear Explosion Monitoring" in the CEBAF Center auditorium and via Zoom.
The talk will present an overview of the DOE National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of Nonproliferation Research and Development experimental program that has been collecting data to improve nuclear explosion monitoring capability. This series of experiments is geared towards providing high fidelity, near-field data across the full range of phenomenologies in order to refine models of signal source generation and propagation and study questions from chemical-nuclear equivalence to impacts on emplacement on observables.
