Abstract:

Even before construction began, CEBAF started receiving a multitude of achievements and recognitions. Among them are awards for environmental consciousness, educational outreach, and community involvement. This collection strives to centralize all institutional recognition received by the Lab.

Historical Sketch

Since 1980, Jefferson Lab has been winning awards, patents and recognition for work done here at the Lab, within the community, with Newport News City schools for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) outreach; nationally and internationally. The staff and Users have come together to make Jefferson Lab a rich environment for discovery and invention.


Scope and Content

This collection consists of awards that Jefferson Lab has won as an institution. An effort is being made to gather individual awards won by staff and Users as well.


Arrangement

Presently, patents are located within the Archives, with a growing index of awards. The awards are located throughout the Lab's campus. If there are specific awards that the researcher would like more information on, please ask history@jlab.org.

Most items can be found in chronological order where they are displayed or stored.
