Disposition Review (Disposal)

  • The Records Administrator will run an annual Disposition Report which will include the records scheduled for destruction and the records scheduled for removal to the FRC. These reports are based on the disposition dates shown on the RIDS form.
  • Before disposition, the Records Coordinator or Records Creator will be asked to review the report. Their approval will be required before destruction or transfer of the records. Under certain circumstances the records can be held held beyond their destruction date. This is not to be construed as an invitation to hold the records forever. When the appropriate time is reached and no legal holds exist, the record will be destroyed as required.
  • At the time of notification, a review of the disposition date can be requested.
  • If there is no response, review requested, or otherwise, final disposition will take place after 60 days.
