Abstracts should be submitted electronically (via e-mail or on the web) or
in hardcopy by mail, before 5:00 p.m. EDT, June 30, 2000. Electronic
submission is encouraged because of the following advantages:
- You will receive a primary acknowledgment that we have received your
abstract within 72 hours of sending it; a secondary message will have a
log number to help reference your abstract if you have any
questions or problems (withdrawals, changes, etc.); and a final message
will include your session and paper number assignment to help you make
travel plans.
- Your abstract will be included in its entirety in the on-line version
of the Bulletin, which is usually available to members several weeks
prior to the meeting. Those submitting on paper will have only their
title and authors listed in both the on-line and print versions of
the Bulletin.
IF YOU SUBMIT ELECTRONICALLY, PLEASE DO NOT SEND A DUPLICATE PAPER
COPY
TO THE APS MEETINGS DEPARTMENT.
The rules for submitting an abstract (electronically or on paper) are:
only a member can submit the abstract, it must meet the length
requirement (1,300 characters including title, author list and
references), and arrive by the deadline. The meeting ID for the DNP
meeting is DNP00.
VIA THE WEB:
To submit an abstract using the on-line web submission process, an author
needs to know two things:
(1) the number and ordering of authors and collaborations; and
(2) what the abstract should say. The web page will guide you through the
rest. Try a test submission before submitting your official abstract. Log
onto:
http://abstracts.aps.org
and select the meeting TEST. Follow the directions on-line to create your
own practice abstract.
Remember, if you submit a test abstract, you must also submit a real
abstract. Test submissions are not entered into the program.
VIA E-MAIL:
To obtain an author package via e-mail, send a message to:
abs-request@aps.org and include the words REQUEST DNP00 in the text of
your message. For additional information on abstract submissions, please
send an e-mail to: abs-help@aps.org
or visit the APS website at:
http://www.aps.org/meet/abstracts/.
