Instructions to ERL2005 Authors

Two word processing formats will be accepted: Word and LaTeX. The text should be in single-column format.

Templates for Word processor documents:

Please use the following template for the preparation of your manuscript: ERL2005_template.doc
This specific document corresponds to 5.75 pages of the final NIM format.

Templates for LaTeX documents:

The Elsevier LaTeX package can be used for manuscript preparation.
You need LaTeX 2e, or LaTeX version 2.09 of 14 January 1992, if you want to use it.

Please use the following guidelines (pdf format) and template file to prepare your article. Note that the template file does not run without TeX error messages until you have supplied title and author information.

Figures may be inserted in the usual way using an \includegraphics command, at the position in the article where they are cited.

The Elsevier LaTeX package can also be found at: http://authors.elsevier.com/latex

Manuscript Preparation

Use double line spacing and wide margins on numbered, single column pages.

A document that is 15 double-line spacing pages long (including 3 figures, each occupying one single page) corresponds to approximately 5 final NIM format pages.

The title page(s) should contain the article title, author(s) names and affiliations, the text of related footnotes and the text of the abstract. The author to whom the proofs should be sent must be indicated with her/his full postal address, telephone number, e-mail address and/or fax number. One to four classification codes (PACS 2003 at http://www.aip.org/pacs/ ) and up to six keywords of the author's choice should be given below the abstract.

Tables should be typed on separate sheets at the end of the manuscript. In addition to its serial number, each table should have a sufficiently detailed caption to explain the data displayed in it.

Figures should be numbered and their captions listed together at the end of the manuscript.

References in the text to other publications should be numbered consecutively within square brackets and listed together at the end of the text.

Formulae in the manuscript should be clearly written or typed with particular consideration given to characters that maybe misinterpreted. Unusual symbols should be explained in pencil in the margin.

DOC, XLS or PPT: If your electronic artwork is created in any of these Microsoft Office applications please supply "as is".

Submission Instructions

Please email all the necessary source files (.tex, .eps, .doc) as well as a PDF or postscript version of your paper in its final form, to erl@jlab.org .

The following list can be used during the final checking of an article prior to sending it to erl@jlab.org for review. Ensure that the following items are present:

Within one month after receipt of your paper, you will be notified by the Guest Editors, Swapan Chattopadhyay and Lia Merminga, on the acceptance of your paper. Once your paper has been accepted for publication, the manuscript will be sent to the Publisher.

After Acceptance

When your manuscript is received by the Publisher it is considered to be in its final form. Proofs are not to be regarded as "drafts".

One set of page proofs in PDF format will be sent by e-mail to the corresponding Author, to be checked for typesetting/editing. No changes in, or additions to, the accepted (and subsequently edited) manuscript will be allowed at this stage. Proofreading is solely your responsibility.

A form with queries from the copyeditor may accompany your proofs. Please answer all queries and make any corrections or additions required.

The Publisher reserves the right to proceed with publication if corrections are not communicated Return corrections within 2 days of receipt of the proofs. Should there be no corrections, please confirm this.

Elsevier will do everything possible to get your article corrected and published as quickly and accurately as possible. In order to do this we need your help. When you receive the (PDF) proof of your article for correction, it is important to ensure that all of your corrections are sent back to us in one communication. Subsequent corrections will not be possible, so please ensure your first sending is complete. Note that this does not mean you have any less time to make your corrections, just that only one set of corrections will be accepted.
