Workshop on Color Transparency

June 25-27, 1997
Grenoble (France)

Organizing Committee: J.-M. Laget (Saclay)
J. Marroncle (Saclay)
J.-F. Mathiot (Clermont-Ferrand)
E. Voutier (Grenoble)

The Color Transparency phenomenom has emerged as a promising tool for the understanding of the proton structure in terms of quarks and gluons. The first experimental signal of p-p quasielastic scattering and the apparent contradiction of e-p quasielastic scattering experiment gave rise to much controversy and motivated the search for new reaction channels and more sensitive experimental observables.

The Workshop on Color Transparency that will be held at Grenoble (France) during June 25-27, 1997, intend to review today's understanding of Color Transparency from its QCD foundations up to the more recent experimental and theoretical results.

The workshop will provide an opportunity to confront the many theoretical ideas to each other and to the outcome of experiments on the existing and future facilities. Recent experimental results obtained at Brookhaven and Hamburg as well as proposal for TJNAF and ELFE will be presented. Related topics (Small x Shadowing, Quark-Gluon Plasma...) will also be discussed.

This Workshop has the support of the European Network on Hadronic Physics with High Energy Electromagnetic Probes.

The Workshop will consist of invited talks covering the topics:

The list of Invited Speakers and the Programme will appear in the Second Announcement, in April 1997. If you wish to receive it, please fill in the attached questionnaire and send it back before March 28, 1997, preferably via e-mail (Voutier@in2p3.fr).
