    Dear Colleague,

Please find below the final announcement for the "Santorini Conference" and the preceding workshops.

    Please note:

    1. ESF has extended the deadline for registering for the main Conference to June 28.
    2. Registering for the workshops is done separately from the registration for the Conference. Please note the discount offered by registering early in the workshops
    3. There will be a poster session. Please submit an abstract to be included in the booklet that will be distributed to all participants.  A number of contributions will be selected for a short (15 minute) presentation at a relevant session during the Conference. Please indicate whether you desire that your contribution should be considered for oral presentation.
    4. Useful information about the conference, the preceding workshops, the Island of Santorini and related topics can be obtained by visiting the web site of IASA at http://www.iasa.uoa.gr/santorini

You may receive multiple copies of this announcement as it is distributed via a number of overlapping mailing lists.

    European Research Conference

Series:   ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERACTIONS WITH NUCLEONS AND NUCLEI
Conference Title:   Probing Hadrons and Nuclei at Higher Energies

    Santorini, Greece/ 5-10 October 1999

Co- sponsored by the European Science Foundation & the Commission of the European Communities In Association with the European Physical Society

      Chairman: Costas N. Papanicolas (Athens)
      Co-Chairman: Klaus Rith (Erlangen)

The Conference will focus on theoretical, experimental, and instrumentation activities in the investigation of nucleons and nuclei with electromagnetic probes at intermediate and high energies.  It follows conferences of a similar scope organized in Santorini in '95 and '97.  Its aim is to review and to explore future trends in the following areas:

      E.  Elastic & transition form factors
      F.  Weak form factors & Parity violation measurements
      G.  Spin structure of the nucleon and sum Rules
      H.  Chiral symmetry & Hadron structure
      I.   Non-perturbative approaches to QCD
      J.   Meson production & form factors
      K.  Nucleon polarizabilities, VCS
      L.  Structure of few body systems
      M.  Nucleon and quark correlations
      N.  Technological frontiers
      O.  The case for 10-30 GeV physics
