Photo of the Week, September 18, 2017
On September 18, 2003, Hurricane Isabel made landfall as a Category 2 hurricane between Cape Lookout and Ocracoke Island in North Carolina with winds of 105 mph. Isabel proceeded to leave a path of destruction through the Outer Banks and Hampton Roads. In her wake, there were damaged buildings and power outages for weeks and a prolonged clean-up. This photo shows one of many fallen trees on the Jefferson Lab campus caused by the hurricane.
