Outlook and Open Questions

It is expected that the LSND and SAMPLE experiments will be concluded over the next five years. Options are being explored for a program of further neutrino scattering studies at FNAL which would include measurements of the elastic neutrino cross sections over a range of momentum transfers. Three parity-violating electron scattering experiments have been approved with the highest priority for CEBAF. One measures forward angle asymmetries using the Hall A spectrometers, from the proton at momentum transfers from about 0.5 - 1.5 and from He at very low momentum transfers [Fi91]. Another measures the asymmetry from He at a momentum transfer of 0.6 [Be91a]. In the case of He, the measurements are directly sensitive to the - quark contribution to the charge form factor of the nucleus. The third experiment, G0 [Be91], will separate the neutral current analogs of the charge and magnetic form factors of the proton over the range 0.1 - 1.0 using a dedicated large acceptance spectrometer. The feasibility of measuring the neutral weak transition current of the resonance may also be explored in this time frame.
