Equipment requirements for the program

The parity-violating electron scattering experiments all require high current polarized beam. These experiments provide an important impetus for further development of reliable polarized electron sources. In addition, a dedicated, large acceptance spectrometer is required for the G0 experiment. Because the -quark contributions to the form factors (the primary focus of these experiments) are likely to be small, it is important to perform the measurements with high sensitivity. The G0 experiment would be able to measure contributions to each of the form factors at the level of a few percent over the range of Q where they are expected to be the largest. A new round of neutrino scattering experiments is being discussed for FNAL. New instrumentation, perhaps based on the LSND detector, will be required.
