Scientific Achievements since the 1989 Long Range Plan

The overriding theme in experimental studies of the few-body systems since the last LRP has been the extensive exploitation of polarization observables. Sources of polarized electrons, developments in polarized target technology and nucleon polarimetry have resulted in a wealth of new data. These experiments address determination of the individual deuteron elastic form factors, small components in the wavefunctions and reaction mechanisms for the deuteron and He as well as the structure of the nucleon itself.
